Trade with Estonia

In 2010, the export of goods totalled 8,7 billion EUR and total imports amounted to 9,2 billion EUR. According to Statistics Estonia, in 2010 the exports of goods at current prices increased 35% and imports 27% compared to 2009. Estonian foreign trade is mainly based on strong economic ties with Sweden, Finland, Russia, Latvia, Germany and Lithuania, as well as with other countries.

The main countries of destination were Finland (17% of Estonia’s total exports), Sweden (16%) and Russia (10%) and the main countries of consignment were Finland (15% of Estonia’s total imports), Germany and Sweden (11% both countries). The share of EU countries accounted for 69% and that of CIS countries 13% of total exports in 2010.

The main export goods are machinery and equipment, mineral products, agricultural products and food preparations, wood and metals.
