President Ilves on a working visit to Sweden
23.01.2012
The President of Estonia Toomas Hendrik Ilves arrived in Stockholm on January 23, for a two days working visit that includes meetings with the King of Sweden Carl XVI Gustaf; the Speaker of the Riksdag, Per Westerberg; Minister of Foreign Affairs, Carl Bildt; and Minister of Defence, Sten Tolgfors. The President will also give a presentation "I’ll gladly pay you Tuesday for a hamburger today“ at a Swedish Foreign Policy Institute, and meet the representatives of biggest Swedish investors, including the banking sector.
“Sweden is the largest foreign investor and largest export partner for Estonia; our countries are closely linked through defence co-operation and the Baltic Sea Strategy,” told President Ilves. “By our financial and budget policies, both countries are among the most responsible countries of the European Union, and we share a common understanding of modern security threats, such as the inevitability of commitment to cyber security.”
